Deodorant Roll-On
Effective deodorant. Easy to use and easy to make.
- Ingredients
- 50 ml water
- 3 g cornstarch
- 10 g baking soda
- 5 drops tea tree oil
- 5 drops essential oil
- Takes about 10 minutes to make
- makes about 60 ml
- You might need a whisk
- Lasts about 4-6 months
Instructions
- Boil and let the water cool.
- Mix cornstarch and water directly in a pot.
- Slightly heat the mixture until it thickens (stir constantly).
- Let it cool (continue stirring).
- Once the thickened mixture is no longer steaming (less than 50°C), stir in the baking soda.
- When everything has cooled down and you can touch the bottom of the pot with your hand without any issues, add the essential oils.
- Stir everything well again.
- Fill the liquid into a deodorant roller and close the roller.
- Pouring can be done without a funnel quite easily; just pour bravely and with a slight distance to the roller.
Adjustment
Citrus notes go particularly well with the somewhat heavier tea tree oil, giving the deodorant a super fresh scent. If you can’t stand the smell of tea tree oil at all, you can also use lavender, which is also antibacterial. It doesn’t work as well for me, but my participants have also had good experiences with it.
Tip
You can refill an old deodorant roller. It’s quite easy, especially with those made of glass. The plastic head can be gently removed (you may use a rounded knife for leverage). It might also make sense to push the ball out from the bottom of the plastic head, then clean everything with boiling water.
How to Use
Apply thinly with the deodorant roller.
